Apartments Los Cristianos, Close To Playa De Las Americas

By Lorenzo Jacabo

If you are looking for a lovely spot to holiday in with lots of things to do, you will find beaches, bars restaurants and apartments Los cristianos to be fantastic. They even have Old English tearooms just down the road in Cristian Suir.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and Los Cristianos is situated on the south-west side of this island. Even though it is much quieter here than many of the other resorts on Tenerife, it is still a popular place for visitors. It is a modern day resort which grew from a sleepy fishing village, but fortunately still retains some of its former charm.

You will find Los Cristianos in a sheltered cove and part of the charm is the working harbor. The harbor is not one of the focal points of the town and where much of the shopping and restaurants are found. This is where the promenade and the square features and, and the promenade stretches to Playa de las Americas.

The main thoroughfare is a pedestrian only street and is part of the old town. Local people still live in this part of town! The best beaches on the island are man-made with dessert sand imported from the Sahara, and the best beach is Playa de las Vistas in Playa de las Americas. It is only a short taxi drive from Los Cristianos, and makes for a great day out.

One of the beauties of holidaying in Tenerife is the duty free shopping. Popular souvenirs are cultured pearls as well as handicrafts, but holiday makers also enjoy shopping for cameras, designer clothing, tobacco, perfume and electrical goods.

Supermarkets are filled with popular English brands, particularly those in the San Eugene center. There is a street market on a Sunday where merchandise can be purchased cheaply, it is great fun to visit this market and haggle with the locals for discounts.

Virtually every taste in cuisine is catered for at the many restaurants, pubs, and bistros in Los Cristianos. They also offer some entertainment of an evening, but for the more exciting night life, a visit to Playa de las Americas, or the Capital, Palma is required.
