What Are The Greatest Wii Games Of All Time?

By Fred de Chunac

If you are considering getting a Wii, or maybe you already have one, you are always wondering: what are the best Wii games? With hundreds of titles to choose from, you can get lost in all of the gaming possibilities the console has to offer. I have compiled a list to assist you though, these are among the best Wii games you should put in your library.

Wii Sports is a game that comes with every new Wii console. It features many popular sports that your whole family can enjoy together. Nintendo was not through with the idea, though, and proceeded to recently release Wii Sports Resort. This new title features some of the games of the original Wii Sports and so much more. Some of the new additions that your family is sure to love are: swordplay, wakeboarding, archery, cycling and table tennis. There are even more new additions than this, so you have got to check it out.

Another title to check out is Super Mario Bros Wii. Nintendo just recently released this incredible title in hopes to give the 1980s classic a much-needed face-lift. Staying true to the design though, the new Super Mario is also side scrolling and two dimensional, very much like its inspiration. Some new features are character selection and a multiplayer feature that allows you and up to three others to simultaneously attempt to complete levels.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl was a title released for the Wii that had an incredible amount of hype. The popular franchise began picking up steam with its various edition released on the Nintendo Gamecube. The latest installment to this impressive franchise has many of the classic characters and boasts controls that allow interactive game play to move this franchise into the future. This was a highly anticipated title and a title that should be included in your Wii game library.

Another re-release of a popular title was Mario Kart Wii. This game was huge when it was released on the Super Nintendo, and then saw nearly equal success when Mario Kart: Double Dash was released on the Nintendo Game Cube. None of these games have been as anticipated, or as purchased as the installment released for the Wii. This game features all of your favorite characters relative to the Mario Bros. Franchise, while allowing the added element of motion sensitivity to make every turn all the more exciting.

The above named games are more for the whole family. Nintendo has been working very hard to release games that cater to the whole family as well as the older individual. One such game released for the more experienced gamer is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This game finds its footing with the same base as all of the others in the franchise. You are Link, the Princess is Zelda, you all live in Hyrule and the world is in danger. The solution rests in your ability to save both the Princess and the world. Through exciting game play allowing you to sword fight (including using a shield), shoot a bow and arrow, amongst many other impressive things. This game received an overall rating of 8. 8 on a scale to 10, which is a pretty impressive feat given that this is among the first to have been released on the Wii.

The last one on this list is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This title showcased a side of Nintendo that many were delighted to see. They are the kings of family games, but they might also have the capacity to bring you some incredible mature titles as well. This installment of the popular franchise sends you through battle situations unlike anything you have seen in the franchise history. You will find that using the motion controls allows you to experience the game as most will not get the chance, if they opt to play on a different console.

And that, my friends, are some of the best Wii games on the market today. So you might use this article as a means to inform you where to begin when purchasing some games for your Wii. These are certainly a great addition to your game library.
