Alice's Restaurant: Guthrie's trendy record empowered this abnormal mix of satire, whimsy, melodrama, and communal comments. Cast includes Arlo Guthrie, Pat Quinn, James Broderick, Michael McClanathan, Geoff Outlaw, and Tina Chen. (111 minutes, 1969)
Casino: Sam Rothstein has worked his way through the mob ranks and now runs the casino that his Chicago outfit owns. Mr. Baseball: Jack Elliot was one of baseball's true superstars. He has seen his best days, and the Yankees have the next superstar waiting in the wings. They make the decision, and trade their former star away. To make things worse, they trade him to Japan.
Diner: Complications of growing up are pleasantly harmonized by author-controller Levinson in this check out a group of buddies who hang out in a Baltimore diner in the 1950s. Evidently made with care and benevolence; a genuine sleeper. (97 minutes, 1961)
General Spanky: Slothful Civil Battle tale, balancing kid pranks contrary to an adult romance, was meant to showcase 3 Our Clique megastars in a characteristic-film format; it's simple to see why there wasn't an encore. Buckwheat's role 'as a servant looking for a master might anger modern-day spectators. Cast includes George McFarland, Billie "Buckwheat" Thomas, Carl Switzer, Phillips Holmes, Rosina Lawrence, and Louise Beavers. (71 minutes, 1936)
